Bonsai sizes
Bonsai are categorized in different sizes. They vary from very heavy trees, which have to be carried by more than one person, down to small specimens easily carried in one hand. The last category is the shohins. The little things.

Wire
Wire from the winter on deciduous bonsai needs to be removed after the buds have swelled or the first leaves have opened. The new leaves will make the branches swell, and thereby the wire will be overgrown quickly, with marks in the branches as the unpleasing result.
