Bonsai Contest Judging
This is an application to facilitate the assessment of bonsai, both in competitions and collections.
It is a compilation of French, Spanish and Japanese systems used to judge Bonsai.
The application is developed between the School of bonsai Menorca and our webmaster.
First, 23 aspects of bonsai are valued, some are optional:
Movement: example, a Chokan tree not be valued in this aspect
The Composition / Tokonoma: if we are judging only a tree or in a composition.
Leaves: In some conifers, they have no importance.
Shari i / o Sabamiki: if is present or not in the tree
Jin. Same as above
Secondary optional aspects:
Kakemono: if is used or not in the composition
Tapering: example, in a Bunjin has no significance.
The score is distributed according to the rating (can be seen in pale red at the right of every aspect). The 60% of the score is assigned to aesthetic aspects and the rest to technique.
Although individual assessment ranged from 0 to 5, the total calculation is calculated when you press the valuation button. For the calculation, the selected points from 0 to 5, is implicated to the value assigned to each aspect. For example, if we select 5 in "Proportions", 8 points are added to the final score.
The rating assigned to the optional aspects, if not selected, is distributed between the rest, because does not affect the full valuation.
If In one event that one aspect is outstanding and deserves some point because is so exceptional, it can be added through the “+” button. As well, if one aspect is extremely poor, you can subtract some points through the button ” –“.
The aspect "Trunk slant" can only subtract points, because we think that for every tree there is a correct position, and this can not be assessed, but on the other hand, if it is not correct subtracts scoring.
We have copies in Microsoft Access 2002, 2003 and 2007
